Not in anywhere near as much pain this time around, which is definitely a good thing.

I have often wondered what the purpose of these "things" is. a complete waste of time, in my opinion. I have real work, sort of, that I could potentially be doing right now, but instead I have to listen to the effects of cold stress? this is actually the first "real" office meeting we have had in probably 2 years. maybe something worthwhile will come out of all of this.

Edit:  Nothing worthwhile came out of the office meeting.  Although the new manager did screw up and say who the Employee of the Year was, not supposed to know until the dinner in March – April.  WHOOPS!!

I heard a wonderful line on Free Talk Live from this past Wednesday, 11/5/08, by Wayne, “Republicans are Socialists, Democrats are National Socialists.”  I feel as if that is far too true.  We all lost on Tuesday night, because all that is going to continue to happen is our government is going to continue to tell us how they can best use our money, and how to live our lives.

Another quick note, I am sick of hearing people continually talking about how we have elected our first black president.  The color of his skin does not mean anything, and continuing to say such things actually makes things worse in some ways.  We have elected a man with horrible politics, just like the previous man, and probably like the man to come after him.

The United States of America lost on this past Tuesday, and until people start to realize that we need a person who will truly embrace the concepts of smaller government and more personal freedom we will continue to do so.

Once upon a time, whilst traipsing through the big box wasteland that is Wal-Mart, I happened to notice this item. Upon a few months worth of reflection, I wish that I had purchased it. My reasoning is two fold.

1. They no longer carry it, and a urinal for your house is nothing less than purely awesome. A similar item, but not quite the same. Awesome comment at the bottom though.

2. I have a son who refuses to even attempt to pee standing up.

My wife has a propensity for using the bathroom with the door open, something I have gotten used to over the years, but that doesn’t make it any less bothersome. The best times are when she yells, “Invisible Wall!” I shudder a little at the thought.

Because she insists on performing her bodily functions while visible to all, my older son has watched her pee far too many times. Now, any time he wishes to pee, he wants to be just like Mommy.

Being just like Mommy means not only peeing while sitting down, but also using toilet paper to wipe his penis when he is done. I guess a couple quick shakes just aren’t quite good enough for him. What does all of this mean, though?

Will he ever learn to write his name in the snow? It’s a fairly easy one, no letters to dot or cross.

Will he ever get to pee in the trough at a football game? Admittedly, I refuse to use those things, but I have my reasons.

And what about the road trip, side of the road, quick piss on the shoulder, friends driving the car away while you were hiding from traffic behind the door? Doesn’t work quite as well when you need to squat to pee.

Hopefully, in the near future, he will discover his desire to pee like the big boys and his future will not look quite as bleak. Until then, I will just have to continue to wish I had bought the coolest thing I have ever seen in Wal-Mart.

How many times have you seen a member of the opposite sex that you found to be attractive. Or, as Eddie Izzard put it:

“Susan, I saw you in the classroom today. As the sun came from behind the clouds, a burst of brilliant light caught your hair, it was haloed in front of me. You turned, your eyes flashed fire into my soul, I immediately read the words of Dostoyevsky and Karl Marx, and in the words of Albert Schweitzer, ‘I fancy you.’ “

That is, of course, until they go and open their mouth. I am not referring to what is usually meant by that, where you determine that the person is a complete and total mush head who cannot manage to put two to three words together into what is at least a semi-coherent sentence, i.e. “Me talk good,” I mean where you see this mouth full of entirely messed up teeth. Classic British teeth, much like in the glorious The Simpsons episode, “Last Exit to Springfield,” where they showed The Big Book of British Smiles.

Something much like this happened to me today. Since my company still has yet to institute direct deposit (we just got voicemail about 3 years ago, if that tells you anything) I had to go to the bank to deposit my pittance of a salary. While there, I noticed that all of the usual hot girls had been replaced. There were a couple that could be classified as at least semi-cute.

One of the semi-cute girls was by far more attractive than the other, at least until you saw the mangled mess that was her mouth. Upon seeing her smile, any thoughts of me wishing I weren’t married and wanting to get into her pants went totally by the wayside. Is this arrogant of me? I know that my teeth are not completely perfect, in that I have a chip in one of my incisors (a very small one, but it bugs me still) and I do grind them when I sleep which means they have a little too much wear. But, at least they are not crooked and snaggly. At the same time, though, I know what I find attractive, and it does not include a mouth full of teeth that you fear may grab your lip and rip it off when you attempt to kiss someone. All I know for sure is that any time I see a pretty girl smile with a mouth full of crooked teeth, I die a little on the inside.

Once upon a time, I saw this sitting in a mens restroom next to the toilet. Afraid to touch it, I wondered long and hard as to its true purpose. This item reminds me way too much of the glass dildoes I have seen before. Only longer. And with a base.

Internet watch, day 3!

If you are a Vista user, then you should know what should accompany the icon where the arrow is pointing. If you are not a Vista user, well, there are now two notifications for networking. If you are just connected to a network, you get the little 'puters talking to one another. If you are connected to the internet, you get the 'puters talking to each other, plus…A GLOBE!

My globe has been missing for three long, arduous, horrible days. This means that I have been unable to play WoW or EVE during my lunch break, a travesty of epic proportions! I gess only slightly more important is our company wide lack of email from the outside world. Plus the inability to access our customer's WMS systems and no shipment scheduling via the internet, but really, they all play second fiddle to my needs.

Luckily, I still have internet access through internet sharing on my Treo. I have used it to get some data for some of the women here, and to update my RSS feeds. Sure a little selfish, but its my phone, dammit!

The problem is that we lack the infrastucture to reroute through a different DNS server, so we have to wait for our main office to come back online. Hopefully, this is supposed to happen by 5 today. We will just have to wait and see.
